The most important part of this release is that we have enhanced Perform-Tracking with extra functionality to enable companies to pro-actively monitor their systems to prevent any possible issues. The key additions to the functionality are as follows.
Tracking NAV Object Changes
Have you ever experience unwanted or unplanned object changes? Do you know who has changed what and when? Has it ever happened to you that somebody deployed an object, run some functions and then changed the object back – and now you do not understand why the data is inconsistent? Do you want to recover a previous historic version of an object? Perform-Tracking is the tool to have – all this is available now.
Proactive Alerts
Do you want to get alerts on business critical issues? Alerts on increased blocking, timeouts and deadlocks will help you react quicker to potential issues. It might be somebody running Adjust Cost or a Posting Batch in the morning because they forgot to run it in the evening - blocking everybody and nobody knows what is happening with the system. Instead of users calling you, you get an alert enabling you to pro-actively deal with the situation. Is somebody modifying objects in the database? You get an alert. Is SQL Agent Job overrunning? Alert. Is there a lack of disk space? Alert. Lack of log space? Alert. Lack of database space? Alert. You are in control, vigilant and proactive.
Tracking Historic Performance Snapshots
When you analyse the NAV database, you need to collect historic data what were the major system overheads during different times in the past. What were expensive queries with long duration? What were the queries exhausting the server by reading too much? What were the queries that were fired millions of times by a 3rd party interface? What indexes were used? What indexes were missing? What SIFTs were used? Answers to all these questions are at your fingertips with enhanced Perform-Analysis tracking functionality!
